Army Training Centre Pirbright (ATC Pirbright) in Surrey provides phase one military training for elements of the British Army. It is the largest initial training site in the Army.
New furniture for passing out parades
The centre have a facility for family members to visit the recruits. These visits take place on ‘family days’ or on ‘passing out parades’ - where recruits formally become soldiers. The furniture in the seating area of the facility had become well-worn, and with a passing out parade date approaching, ATC(P) decided to renew their furniture in preparation for the day.
Two Denver three seater sofas and 12 Denver two seater sofas were selected by ATC(P) in dark brown. Trent Furniture also provided a ten per cent HM Forces discount on the furniture order as a standard practice.
Why HM Forces chose Trent Furniture
Bruce McAulay, warrant officer at HM Forces, commented “The reason I chose Trent Furniture was because the sofa selection shown on the website matched exactly what we were looking for. I had looked at other furniture companies but none had anything like what Trent had on their website. The generous HM Forces discount provided also helped to set Trent apart from the competition, it really helped us.”
The furniture was ordered with intentions of being used at a family day on Thursday 25th March. Within a short time span, Trent managed to deliver the order on the Monday, leaving plenty of time for the training centre to prepare for the day.
