Halcyon Books is a family-run business in Greenwich, established in 1990 by Matt and Chris Hubbard.
After thriving in their Greenwich location for over twenty years, the brothers decided to open another store on Lee Road High Street, two miles south of their current store.
With plenty of bookcases ready to hold their new, second-hand and rare books, the two Londoners were in need of a range of furniture for the shop’s café area which would match and complement the overall décor of the premises.
Halcyon Books ordered 16 chairs which were a mixture of four Bentwood, four Loopback, and eight Fanback side chairs and armchairs. Four Bentwood tables in an assortment of sizes were added to match the chairs. All furniture was walnut coloured.
Matt Hubbard commented “We’re really happy with the quality of the products supplied by Trent Furniture. All of our shelving for the books is cherry wood coloured so we decided to focus on ordering walnut coloured furniture. Trent Furniture had a range of fittings in this colour which resulted in us ordering a mixture of different table and chair specs all in walnut colour.”
Halcyon Books, 266 Lee High Road, was opened on 27th February and has received many positive comments from visitors about the successful opening.
