A British furniture company has been asked to supply seating for the auditions stage of the next series of the ITV1 show the X Factor, which started filming earlier this month (June). Trent Pottery Furniture has provided chairs for the contestants to sit on in the staging area throughout the filmed auditions, which continue until the end of July at various venues across the UK with judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Louise Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.
The top rated show, which is in its ninth series, has created stars such as Leona Lewis, JLS and One Direction. However, whilst some of the finalists have gone on to achieve fame and fortune, many went no further than waiting in the holding area with presenters Dermot O’Leary and Caroline Flack.
Trent Pottery’s Managing Director, Rob Price is delighted to be sourcing seating for the show. “We supply a range of furniture to the hospitality industry across the country and it’s very exciting to be involved in the staging of such a popular show. Waiting around to perform for the judges is a nerve wracking time for singers arriving at the auditions. We hope our seats will at least enable them to wait in comfort and relax a little prior to their audition.”
The presenters and contestants will be using the ‘Roma’ range from Trent Pottery Furniture which includes chairs and tables. “The chairs are mainly bought by restaurant and café owners and are one of our most popular ranges,” comments Rob. “We will do our best to make sure that everybody going for an audition will be sitting comfortably.”
Based in the East Midlands, Trent Pottery has been supplying furniture to the catering and hospitality industry since 1960 and also provides furniture for university bars and communal areas. As a manufacturer, the company takes its environmental responsibilities seriously, using wood from sustainable sources and donating furniture to various local charities.
