Situated in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Shrivenham, Viscountess Barrington’s Memorial Hall is at the heart of the local community. Designed by the 8th Viscountess Barrington to be an epicentre of village life, the hall was opened in 1926 by Princess Beatrice, daughter of Queen Victoria, and features a hammerbeam ceiling which is a replica of that in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The hall is now used for local functions and can be booked for weddings and parties.
When considering replacing the hall’s furniture, the hall’s trustees were looking for something which was practical whilst able to convey the historical charm of the building. Further to this, the chairs needed to be easily moveable in order to create a space that could be used in many different ways. After finding Trent Furniture's website, the trustees were convinced to purchase 120 Richmond Stacking Chairs.
“It is quite hard to find contemporary furniture that is in keeping with the beautiful traditional décor of the hall, but Trent Furniture had such a wide range that we were spoilt for choice!” said one trustee, “The staff were so helpful – we managed to change the colours of the upholstery at the last minute without a problem. I’d order from them again without a doubt, and definitely recommend them to other village halls and community spaces in the area.” “
