RAF Cosford is a large RAF base in Shropshire. The base is the home of RAF engineering, with all engineering officers and junior ranks receive training here. It is also the home of the School of Physical Training where the RAF trains its Physical Training Instructors.
Within the base, armed forces stationed at Cosford have access to two bars to use in downtime.
Officers were looking to refurnish the bar areas after previous furniture updates left the spaces looking “more like old people’s homes than bars”. As usual, with a wide range of furniture to suit different needs and tastes, Trent Furniture was on hand to provide exactly what was needed.
“After looking at four or five different companies Trent Furniture offered the best price and widest variety of options for colour and size,” explains James Bell, Royal Air Force Flying Officer. “We have a maple bar and some existing burgundy furniture remaining in the bar area so we wanted a light wood table and stools upholstered in a fabric similar to our sofas so it all looked like a set. We couldn’t get that from anywhere else.”
With a clear visage of what they wanted, Trent Furniture was able to help in providing suggestions for tables and stools that matched the brief.
The Single Lionhead Poseur Table was selected as the best choice for their table needs. The cast iron tall bar table with a decorative stem was completed with a light oak table top.
For the seating that would accompany the poseur tables, Tall Colonial Stools with Piped Tops were selected. The stool’s hardwood frame and attractive turned legs were the perfect choice for creating a true bar atmosphere. And with the ability to upholster the stools in a wide range of colours and fabrics meant that finding one to match the already in place sofas wasn’t a problem.
The finished bar area looks fantastic and is the ideal place for members to go and socialise in the evenings.
