Situated at the start of King’s Cross Road, London, the Union Tavern is a popular Victorian pub, dating back over 200 years. Due to its central location, the Tavern was historically used as stop off point before heading north, and is still frequented by travellers from King’s Cross station.
Traditional Furniture for a Traditional Pub
A listed building, the pub is characterised by its impressive high ceilings and windows, and is decorated in the turn of the twentieth century art nouveau style. When looking for furniture to compliment this style, it became clear that Trent Furniture were able to provide reproductions of the traditional 19th Century ‘bentwood’ chair, just the style that staff were looking for.
Twelve slat back walnut wood bentwood chairs were ordered, and staff feel that they ‘provide an elegant and stylish addition’ to the old fashioned feel of the Tavern.
The new chairs will serve the bar, restaurant and function room areas, bringing a sense of traditional charm and comfort to all three.
