Although the number of British pubs continues to fall, craft beer breweries and tap rooms are seeing a spark in popularity. New research shows that the number of breweries in Britain is up almost two-thirds in the past five years, rising to levels last seen in the 1930s.
These British craft beer makers are reviving the tradition of brewery tap rooms, too. As a substitute for the diminishing number of pubs, a high percentage of breweries now have tap rooms which are becoming as important as the local pub.
As well as brewery specific tap rooms, there are a number of independent craft beer pubs popping up which offer a variety of different beers from different breweries rather than just one. As well as offering a range of craft beers, the décor and atmosphere in these pubs is a far cry from a traditional pub setting.
Craft beer pub decor
Most towns and cities now have a number of micropubs, craft beer bars, or tap rooms. The interior of these establishments is far away from the traditional wooden furniture and short stools associated with a pub. Instead, they are best known for a contemporary décor made up of furniture with an industrial appearance.
Aside from the unique choice of beers, here are some furniture picks for a craft beer pub.
Munich Retro Faux Leather Chair
The Munich chair with its distinctly vintage style, classic brown leather upholstery and sleek metal tubular frame is the definition of style and comfort. These chairs are a perfect addition to a contemporary craft beer bar. The vintage design with a heavy duty steel frame and faux leather upholstery make this a real statement piece.

Wheelback Chair in Dark Oak
It’s important to keep traces of traditional pub furniture within the décor, and the Wheelback Chair is the perfect blend between contemporary and traditional. The Wheelback Chairs look excellent when combined with both wooden and industrial steel surroundings. The decorative wheel incorporated into the chair’s slats creates a unique and eye-catching appearance.

Tall Industrial Hairpin Leg Bar Stool
Furniture with metal hairpin legs are on trend right now and they are the perfect addition for a craft beer pub. Our Tall Industrial Hairpin Leg Bar Stool could be propped up stylishly next to your bar area.
The simple plywood top contrasts perfectly with the industrial steel legs to create a real statement style. The raw, industrial look is hugely popular and these tall stools fit right in with this theme of interiors. They are often paired with cast iron tables, but we’ll get onto that next…
Dolphin Table
The Dolphin table design was first introduced in the Victorian Era and has remained a firm favourite today with pubs and bars. The decorative cast iron base adds a retro twist to contrast the industrial interior of a more contemporary venue. The table is also available as a poseur table to be matched with the stools.
