Hotel furniture in British guest houses, bed and breakfasts, and larger hotels could see a greater number of its users actually being British this year.
The 'staycation' trend - where British holidaymakers take their holidays within the UK, rather than heading abroad - earned its name at the very start of the economic turbulence, and shows no signs of fading away as yet.
According to Sainsbury's Bank, 40% of Britons are planning a domestic break in 2013, across a broad range of different accommodation types, potentially as part of an attempt to cut the cost of their break.
Hotel furniture will need to accommodate 16% of domestic holidaymakers, 13% plan to look for self-catering accommodation, 12% will visit family and friends and 8% want to go camping.
If you run a hotel, own self-catering rental accommodation, or have a smaller guest house or bed and breakfast, it seems domestic demand alone will continue to put strain on your furnishings this year.
By investing in new, well-upholstered and unbroken items to replace any chairs or tables you have that are already past their best, you can make sure you cater for your guests adequately - and keep them coming back for more in future years too.
