Hotel furniture has seen great demand in recent years as the trend of Britons taking 'staycations' within the UK has continued throughout the recession.
But despite the ongoing economic turbulence, it seems investing in hotel furniture is still a wise idea, with a substantial market for holidaying Brits still easily evident.
Research from Norwich & Peterborough shows that holidays are the number one reason for Brits to put money aside heading into 2013.
Some 40% of all those surveyed said they are saving for their next break - whether domestically or abroad - more than twice as many as the next reason, home improvements, which scored 19% of the vote.
New clothes and shoes, debt repayments and buying a new car all made it into the top five too.
But it is the most popular reason for saving that makes hotel furniture a wise investment for the new year - especially in the north-east, where 67% of people are saving towards their holiday in 2013.
Seating that's suitable for older guests might be a good option, as 43% of over-55s plan to go on holiday in 2013, and the most elderly among them will need somewhere to sit after a long day on their feet.
