The UK has been battered by storms and heavy rain in the final days of 2015, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to host events if you have sensible banqueting furniture in stock.
Banqueting furniture is often designed to be easily portable - and that can also mean it is lighter than restaurant furniture that is not designed to be moved so often, so if your event is taking place outside, banquet tables should be a little more forgiving on soft ground.
If you cannot carry your tables into place, you can get furniture trolleys to move several banquet tables at once - the legs simply fold away, and the tables stack on to the trolley, usually on their side, so you can fit them through doorways if you need to relocate your event indoors out of the weather at short notice.
Of course, there is the added advantage that you can wheel these trolleys into an elevator, if you have one, to move furniture to an upstairs level in the event of a flood - making it easier to clean up the empty downstairs rooms afterwards and get back into business as quickly as possible to recoup any losses.
Banqueting chairs offer similar advantages, including stacking chairs that are easy to move by hand or on a trolley, again making it easier to relocate your meal if the conditions in your intended venue become unacceptable.
If you are holding your meal on open ground - particularly if it has rained heavily in recent days - consider banqueting chairs with metal legs, rather than wooden furniture, as they should be better equipped to withstand any moisture that is still in the ground.
Ultimately, hosting any outdoor event is a gamble if you do not have a weatherproof tent or gazebo for it to take place in, but good planning can mean having a Plan B, not just creating a bulletproof Plan A.
By investing in a sensible selection of banqueting furniture, you can cover all eventualities - so that your celebration will only ever be cancelled in the most extreme of circumstances.
