As we move into the new year, many Britons will be making a resolution to try and live out their dreams - and your choice of hotel furniture could be the first step towards offering themed rooms, or simply luxurious surroundings that entice Brits looking to indulge themselves.
In a recent survey by OnePoll, Britons revealed their idea of an 'ideal' world, as well as their dreams and ambitions for their own life.
For instance, 25% of people said Australia is the place they would most like to visit, so hotel furniture that helps to evoke the sense of the Antipodes could be a good way to set up rooms so that they provide a feeling of departure and escape, even within the UK.
The Caribbean followed close behind with 21% of the vote - and with one respondent also saying that their dream job would be to be a secret agent, the types of hotel rooms seen in the 1960s James Bond films could provide some inspiration on both counts.
Invest in a statement wardrobe for your rooms and you can create the perfect theme for Christmas and the winter season - or all year round, if you're feeling brave - as Narnia also ranked highly on the list of places people wanted to visit.
And 'the past' also featured as a popular destination, so again, drawing on the style of classic hotel rooms could be a good way to create interiors that attract your clientele while acting as a window into the past.
This, of course, works especially well in hotels with genuine history and heritage, such as those with period architectural features, an aged exterior, or listed status.
You might think that creating rooms with a theme is frivolous, but in family-orientated hotels it's a fun way to give your youngest residents an experience they will not quickly forget.
As for establishments aimed more at older residents; here you can tap into the elegance and styling of years gone by, which your oldest guests might remember from first-hand experience, and create interiors that will stand the test of time in the years to come as well.
