The types of pub furniture needed in venues throughout the UK may have changed in the years since the smoking ban was introduced.
Prior to 2007, it was generally acceptable to smoke in pubs, but customers must now head outside before they light up - and there are even rules on the types of shelter that are allowed.
This has changed the interiors of pubs forever, making them a smoke-free and more family-friendly environment.
As a result, pub furniture is facing new patterns of usage - a survey by customer intelligence specialist Market Force shows 70% of parents are now more likely to take their children out with them to the pub.
Overall, nearly a quarter of Britons visit the pub more often since the ban, suggesting that simply having more pub furniture could be a good place to start, if you've got the room.
Chairs and tables that are suitable for youngsters might be a wise investment too - and you can always move these out of the way after 7pm, when the families and children leave.
However, you should not forget the smokers either - providing them with outdoor furniture that's comfortable and protected from the elements can be a useful way to attract business.
"Smokers are still looking for better smoking areas, such as cover and seating," says Market Force Europe's chief executive officer Tim Ogle.
"It is vital that publicans listen to the needs of their smoking customers and keep their designated areas well maintained."
