The 2015 Leicester City Festival is a celebration of culture, from music and the arts, to sports - and the latter makes it a great time to put your sports club furniture at the disposal of visitors to the city, even if they are not members of your venue.
With an itinerary of events starting on August 22nd and running through until the end of the month, there will be plenty of local residents out in the city's streets, as well as tourists from the wider area.
Allowing them to make use of your sports club furniture makes good business sense on a number of levels - even if you do not expect visitors from out of town to make the journey to your venue again in the future.
First of all, there is a clear sports tie-in with the festival, which includes the Sports Fest and the Ride Leicester Festival, as well as plenty of other physical activities like dancing and Flavours of Rugby, which celebrates one of the city's most popular sports.
Second, it's a great excuse to throw open your doors to non-members, if only for a week, so that they can come and relax in your sports club furniture, pay to use your facilities as a one-off guest, or spend money in your cafeteria or vending machines.
Third, remember that many people attending the festival will not have travelled far to get there - putting them well within reach of your premises with the chance for them to become regular paying customers or club members in the months to come.
As the summer draws to a close, outdoor sports will become harder to enjoy without proper facilities like floodlights or, if the weather worsens significantly, indoor pitches and so on.
Lay the groundwork now by letting non-members see your premises and what you have to offer them for their membership, and there's a very strong chance to boost your number of customers - not to mention your takings - in the run-up to Christmas.
Beyond that of course, we'll be into the new year, and that in turn is an opportunity to attract customers who have made a New Year's fitness pledge - but it all starts now by ensuring as many locals as possible have seen your club facilities, so you are in their mind whenever they are ready to increase their participation in physical pursuits.
