Pub furniture is designed to cope with a lot - heavy usage, being dragged about the place and, obviously, spillages.
So you might want to take a fresh look at your pub furniture and make sure it's ready to deal with the latest trends.
According to Mintel, cider is now drunk by 47% of the population, up from 42% a decade ago.
While it isn't downed in quite the same quantities, that puts it one percentage point ahead of lager, which is drunk by 46% of Brits.
"Cider has been particularly successful at attracting younger drinkers from the ailing lager category, as well as from alcopops and wine," says Mintel's senior drinks analyst Jonny Forsyth.
For pub owners and managers, that raises one particular question for pub furniture - is it stain-proof?
Many of the most popular bottled ciders now are based on fruits other than apples and, therefore, are not so clear as traditional draught ciders.
A spillage of a bottle of pink berry-based cider could spell disaster for many items of bar furniture.
Luckily, manufacturers of pub and bar furniture are always innovating to keep pace with changing trends within the hospitality industry - and you can find many items within our range that should be better able to resist a bright-pink stain when a tide of cidery froth comes their way.
