Distinctive Style
Shaker furniture is a distinctive style of furniture which focuses on simple, well-made and minimalist designs. The Tall Shaker Stool is no different and features simple straight edge slightly tapered legs which create the frame of the stool. The shaker stool is available in three traditional wood colours including dark oak, walnut and light oak. The stool is shown here with a button upholstered top but we can also offer this stool with a thicker piped top or simply a matching wooden top. We can upholster the stool tops in any fabric, simply click the ‘Select Fabric’ tool below to browse the materials that are available and choose your upholstery.
Practicle Furniture
This modest and practical style of furniture was originally based on the notion of ‘function over form’. The iconic shaker stool, for example, is as sturdy and durable as it need to be, yet light enough to be moved easily around or pulled in and out from under a bar or poseur table. The stools are constructed of solid hardwood and assembled using mortice and tenon joints for stability and strength; this concealed method of joinery adds to the simple smooth lines which are so typical of the original shaker style furniture. All of the features mentioned are designed for practicality but the result of them is a stylish and elegant bar stool.
Pub, Café & Restaurant Stool
These stools look excellent in any contract setting and are regularly chosen as as pub stools, café stools or restaurant stools for both traditional and contemporary interiors. It is often the choice of fabric which varies depending on whether the desired finish is a modern or traditional one. They look particularly effective paired with the Shaker Poseur table which has the same wooden frame, tapered legs and solid hardwood construction. They also look great with other tall poseur tables such as the Chrome Pyramid or the Hercules Table.
