What is a poseur table?
A common staple of bars, pubs, and even some office workplaces, a poseur table is taller than a standard table and accommodates more casual use than the standard tables and chairs typically used for dining.
It can often be found near the bar in a pub or restaurant and will be of similar height to the bar counter to encourage a communal feel and blend in with the areas of an establishment where people are most likely to be either standing or walking.
With suitably raised bar chairs and stools, customers can casually seat themselves by a poseur table, but they can just as easily stand and may prefer to do so in certain situations, such as when waiting for friends, looking to mingle or enjoying a quick stop for a drink.
What is a double poseur table?
Also described as a twin, two or double tier poseur table, this is very simply a poseur table with a second smaller surface which is usually mounted above the main table. These enhance the practical flexibility of standard poseur tables, providing a convenient extra level to place a round of drinks or share pub snacks and other food from the bar menu.
