Centenary Methodist Church at the heart of beautiful Boston UK was upgrading its Central Hall - a much loved and buzzing community space which had become a little tired and desperately needed new chairs.
Reverend Dr. Val Ogden saw that Trent Furniture had the Harrow silver-framed upright chair in just the right shade of lilac. After requesting and receiving a fabric sample and soon realised it was fantastic value and really comfortable.
“Funds are incredibly tight for us so we launched, in faith, a 'Buy your Church a Chair for Christmas!' appeal” explained the Rverans. With a 'chair-o-meter' on the venue wall, depicting 80 thumbnail chair images, every time someone bought a chair - or a few - they checked-off the same number of pictures on the wall. Doing it this way meant everyone could join in and follow the progress, even buying 'half' a chair if need be. “Wonderfully, we managed to get the total in time for Christmas!”

The chairs are used at many community events, and most regularly at the weekly free lunches and informal Sunday services.
