Bourne Leisure operates three of the most successful British holiday brands over 52 sites nationwide, including the iconic chain of holiday sites, Butlins. The resort in Skegness, Lincolnshire was the very first Butlins camp to open in 1936 and is still a popular holiday destination for many families across the UK. Today the resort has over 1,100 team members who work across the site in the various venues including restaurants, cafes, leisure and entertainment centres, including the famous Butlins redcoat performers who entertain holidaymakers at the centre stage venue.
When Environmental Manager Andy O’Dare was looking to upgrade the furniture in the resort’s two major show bars, he decided to go to Trent Furniture having seen their products in situ at the Minehead site in Somerset. “I first came across Trent Furniture when I visited the Minehead resort and saw their new furniture,” explains Andy. “I was impressed with the price and standard of the products; they seemed to offer good quality and value for money.”
Customised on site
Andy decided that the furniture would be suitable for the Skegness upgrade and ordered 1300 Harrow chairs. The steel framed chairs have plywood seats and back rests for additional strength. They are upholstered on site at Trent’s Leicestershire factory so that customers can choose the fabric, colour and pattern that complements their intended surroundings.
Sturdy and stylish
“It’s important that our two major show bar venues look good, but they also get a lot of wear and tear so sturdy furniture is a must,” comments Andy. “I am very happy with the furniture that we chose; Trent Furniture has a wide range of products which are well made and are competitively priced. We also found the delivery service to be prompt and efficient. We received helpful and efficient service from all staff members; from our original enquiry right up to the delivery. We will definitely be using them again and I would be happy to recommend the company to other Bourne Leisure sites.”
