Werneth Cricket Club was founded back in 1864 and over the years has competed in the Central Lancashire League. The club, which has three senior teams and four junior, is run by volunteers and is reliant upon memberships paid by players.
This year, the club decided to undergo a refurbishment to attract new members, increase booking for their outside function space and ultimately, boost the club's finances. The club’s committee was looking for furniture to replace the entire older seating within the clubhouse including the bar area and members lounge.
“We chose Trent furniture as we needed to keep costs down and Trent Furniture seemed to give the best quality furniture which was in our price range,” explains Amanda Wilson, Werneth Cricket Club committee member. “I did talk with other companies whose furniture just did not match the standard of Trent's, unless we paid a lot more.”
To replace the older seating, the club ordered a mix of Nevada tub chairs and Boston side chairs, both in Dark oak and upholstered in stone fabric. These were accompanied by a scattering of tall and small shaker stools along the cricket club’s bar and square shaker poseur tables and tall Boston stools which were paid together to make use of a previously unused area.
“The sales staff extremely helpful as there was a lot of discussion on our end about the furniture choice and design. None of this was too much trouble for any of Trent’s staff,” adds Amanda.
The club has got a long and fruitful history and refurbishing is continuously needed to attract new members and secure club’s future. We’re have not doubt that our furniture will have a good innings.
