Case Study: Rolls-Royce Leisure Association
The Rolls-Royce estate in Derby employs over 11,000 people working across departments for the aerospace and submarine industries. Derby has the largest concentration of Rolls-Royce employees in the UK; with one in eleven workers in the region being employed by the company.
As part of the company’s responsibility for staff welfare and wellbeing they offer health and social facilities for their employees across the UK. The Rolls-Royce Leisure Association in Derby is a sport, social and conference facility for Rolls-Royce workers. Sixty people are employed at the club which can seat 350 people in the main bar. As well as fitness classes, the centre puts on regular themed events including northern soul, big band and tribute nights. The venue is also licensed to hold civil ceremonies and can be hired for private parties and conferences.
Colin Prior, Leisure Manager at Rolls-Royce Leisure Association decided that the furniture in the main bar was looking dated and began to look at other options online. Ultimately, Colin wanted furniture that would update the bar but that would still work with the existing furnishings. After finding the Abbruzzo chair on Trent Furniture’s website, he contacted Trent Furniture to see if a sample chair could be sent over.
“We sent off for a sample of the chair in brown faux leather with dark oak legs to see how it would look with the other furniture we were keeping,” explains Colin. “When it came we were all really pleased as it was a great match, so we ordered more straight away. The chairs look very nice in situ and we have received some very favourable comments from customers so far.”
“I will definitely use Trent Furniture for any future purchases,” adds Colin. “They offer a quality product which is good value for money. The sales staff were helpful throughout, and delivery was fitted into my timescale. Trent Furniture is a company that delivers what they say - and when they say.”
