Hotel furniture is back in demand for 2012, after a number of projects were postponed during the worst of 2011's economic turbulence.
The British Hospitality Association published a review of the year in December which noted a fall of almost 7,000 rooms in new hotel openings for 2011.
However, for 2012 the expected figure stands at 21,500 rooms - almost double the actual total of 11,800 seen last year.
With the need to furnish all of these new rooms, and many projects also expected to commence in 2013 as the industry returns to full strength, hotel furniture could be in continued demand for the years to come.
Restaurant furniture is also likely to continue to grow, as in 2010 all eateries other than pubs scored an average increase in number of meals served.
As the recession draws to an end and more prosperous times return, it is likely that more families, friends and couples will choose to treat themselves to meals out.
With this in mind, venues keen to anticipate the return of prosperity could be wise to invest in new restaurant furniture to match the sense of optimism.
Classic styles and modern shapes each hold their own benefits, while leather furniture is a particularly luxurious touch for high-class establishments.
