Demand for hotel furniture is likely to remain strong with the news that some 24,000 rooms are currently 'under contract' across the UK for completion by 2016.
The figure, compiled by hospitality analyst STR Global and cited by HOSPA, breaks down into a varied regional picture, dominated by London and Manchester.
In the capital alone, 18,000 rooms - about three quarters of those currently in their planning or construction phase - are under contract according to the data.
Manchester ranks second with almost 4,000 rooms under contract between now and 2016, while Liverpool and Birmingham have 1,000-1,100 rooms under contract each.
Current Commonwealth Games host city Glasgow is looking ahead to the tourism legacy of the sporting event, with about 800 rooms under contract, while Cardiff is flying the flag for Wales with about 500 rooms under development.
The figures show how regional demand is leading to new hotel accommodation throughout the UK, which in turn should see sustained demand for hotel furniture over the coming year or two, and beyond.
Of course, the figures are only illustrative, and it is likely that there are many more construction projects planned or already underway that were not included in the survey.
Existing establishments will also be likely to undertake refurbishment work over the same period, further adding to the demand for good-quality hotel furniture to cater for guests' desire for comfort.
Taken together, the data is a clear indication of the continued strength of the UK's hospitality sector, and of particular growth in certain of the regions.
London continues to go from strength to strength in the wake of the 2012 Olympic Games, while the 2014 Commonwealth Games already appear to be having a similar effect on Glasgow's tourism aspirations.
But across the country, there are plenty of examples of growth in tourism and hospitality as well, leading to the five-figure number of rooms currently in the pipeline and due for delivery over the next 18 months or so.
As always, we will work hard to deliver the hotel furniture needed for these new and refurbished establishments, with comfortable reception furniture and lounge furniture to create the right first impression on new arrivals when they come to check in.
