Not everybody has a lot of time to spare, but comfortable sports club furniture can help to make sure that members have a chance to relax before and after their exercise, potentially adding some valuable socialising time to their session.
In her first major speech since being appointed sports minister, Tracey Crouch told an audience at The Oval that she understands the pressures of a busy lifestyle - and has herself experienced the difficulties of staying active with a hectic schedule.
"You can imagine with the job of being an MP getting into regular scheduled classes is difficult," she admitted.
"I did Zumba on a Thursday night back in the patch for a while but then meetings take over and before I knew it I'd missed several weeks. Time poverty is a real challenge for many."
But catering for rushed patrons with comfortable sports club furniture means people can take a break from their schedules, as well as spending some time with friends - including after their activity is over, whether they stay for a soft drink, an alcoholic beverage, or just to chat.
And it's important not to forget younger members and visitors too, as these pave the way for future generations of customers.
In her speech, Ms Crouch referred back to the London 2012 Olympics, when Victoria Pendleton finished in second place in her final race, on the last night of cycling in the Velodrome.
Afterwards, Ms Crouch said, a man named Chris Emmott tweeted that his daughter asked him on the train home: "Can we go for a bike ride?"
She called this a 'little spark' inspired by the commitment and passion of the Olympic athletes, adding: "Little sparks like that are going off all the time."
By making sure the younger generations are included - not only by providing suitable sporting facilities, but by ensuring sports club furniture is placed in groupings where families can relax together, and not just for customers exercising alone - clubs can help to pave the way to a fitter future with healthy membership figures, which together is something everyone can benefit from.
